Banish Bagworms with Non-Stinging Wasps
There are many things that can be annoying in a garden situation, and Bagworms can certainly be one of them. They grow bags and end up spreading all over the place. There are many things that you can do to try to rid yourself of this problem, but by far the best thing to do is to use non-stinging wasps in order to rid yourself of the Bagworms.
There are many things that you can do to rid yourself of the Bagworms. The best thing that you can do is to first take any bags that you can see off of the tree. This might mean prune any of the bags and throwing them away. After you have done that, you need to use an older form of Bacillus Thuringiensis on all of the rest of the tree. This is because many of the Bagworms will have already hatched and will be in the larva stage. If you only rid yourself of the bags, and fail to spray the tree, you will find that you aren’t fixing anything because the generation that is already on the tree will continue to multiply.
After you have sprayed the tree, you should be in a position to see that there aren’t any more Bagworms on the tree. However, how do you keep them off for good?
This might be something that you have never thought of before, but one of the best ways to control a pest is to find out what kind of insect or other thing is a natural predator of the insect that you don’t want to be around. If you are able to find any of the natural predators of the Bagworm, you are going to be able to find a way to get rid of the Bagworms for good.
This is one of the most interesting facts, and it is something that can be very easy to do. Non-stinging Wasps are actually a natural repellent of Bagworms. If there are wasps, they will keep the Bagworms from returning to the tree.
How do you go about getting the wasps? Well, you need to make sure that you are getting the non-stinging variety, that is true, and that is very important. You don’t want to end up with a wasp problem as well! You can find the wasp larva and eggs at many different stores, or you can order them online. You can also transplant them from another hive or place in your yard, just as long as they aren’t stinging! After you have made sure that the wasps you are getting don’t have stingers, you can be sure that you are planting them around the tree that has had the Bagworm problem. If you are able to get the wasps to begin to live and breed around the tree, you will find that there are no more bagworms.
Using a natural predator is always a good way to rid yourself of insects that are pesky to you. The greatest thing about using natural prededation is that you aren’t using chemicals or other kinds of things that might be poisonous to you or to your family. Getting rid of bugs and other pests by using natural predators is a great way to insure that you can rid your life of things you don’t want, and not add in anything that you are going to be sorry you have put into your yard. By putting chemicals into your tree and around your yard, you are going to actually be exposing your family to things that might be harmful. If you can use a natural predator, you aren’t harming your family at all.
