Would you please give your 'white pine' a botanical name. In NZ the 'white pine' is known as kahikatea (Podocarpus dacrydioides). It goes through a juvenile stage before reaching an adult stage. In bonsai it takes a very long time for it reach the adult stage. The juvenile stage always looks 'dried out' and does not have the usual green look about it.
