Different Gardening Tools and Their Uses
Gardening is one of the more rewarding hobbies that a person could have. You get to associate and interact with nature and eventually see the rewards of your labor in the form of fruits and flowers. To be able to do well in gardening you must have the proper if not the more common gardening tools available. Actually, the tools that you may need for gardening will depend on what kind of garden you have and what plants grow their.
Indoor or hothouse gardening do not need the heavy rakes and spades which usually go with outdoor gardening. Indoor gardens and hothouses usually have plants in pots or small plant boxes which can not accommodate larger rakes or spades. The more common gardening tools which are essential in every garden are the spading fork, hoe, shovel, watering can, a rake and a pair of clippers or shears. These are the gardening tools needed for use in for your indoor or outdoor garden.
Common Gardening Tools
The spading fork is primarily used to cultivate and aerate the soil where you intend to plant. It can dig deep into the earth to break up the harder soil with its wide tines. A hoe can be used for weeding the surface areas of the plant and garden for better water absorption. Shovels are the gardening tools used to dig up the soil you have effectively loosened with your spading fork. The watering can’s purpose is obvious from its name. It is a carrier for water to give much needed water for the plants. There are different kinds of watering cans depending on what stage your plants are in.
The rake is used to take out the bigger stones or debris which may be in the soil you have loosened in preparation for planting. It is very useful for clearing up unwanted debris and rocks. Clippers or garden scissors are for pruning and cutting excess or dead parts of the plants in your garden. They also help shape plants to the desired shape which the gardener wants to achieve.
Gardening tools are needed by people to be able to effectively cultivate plants. There may be other gardening tools which you may need for special purposes but the ones listed above are the necessary ones. People love to garden because they feel they have achieved success when their plants begin to bear fruits or bloom. Plants also add certain life in an otherwise empty area or room by adding color and texture.
