The Power of Oranges in Pest Control
There are many things that you might have thought of using when it comes to controlling pests. However, did you know that organic is something that is always going to end up being best – and that orange is among one of the best forms of organic pest control?
It is true. Oranges have long been the source of a lot of ability when it comes to best control. The fact remains that when it comes to getting rid of pests, we should often just turn to what nature has already provided us with. In this case, there are many organic pest control products that have been made with oranges. Many of them use shavings or extracts from the peels of the citrus fruit. This might include lemons as well. The oil that comes from lemons and oranges kills many different insects, both flying and crawling.
The way that oranges work when it comes to killing insects is that it destroys the waxing coating that exists on the insect’s respiratory system. Contact with this kind of oil, for many different pests, means that they are no longer going to be bothering you!
The reasons behind the idea of oranges and other citrus fruits repelling and killing bugs are quite simple. The most repellent of the fruit is found along the peel. This is nature’s way of protecting the seeds that are inside of the orange, which is the oranges way of reproducing. This natural insecticide gets rid of the things that might eat the food, which the seeds are meant to eat – the fruit of the orange.
It also works for humans as well. There are many different solutions that contain orange and other citrus fruit extracts. There are also many different ways that these things work. Some of them are applied directly to the pests themselves. This, as stated above, is going to actually kill the pests dead, which will mean they aren’t a problem for you anymore. Also, there are many different products that are made with the citrus fruit oils that aren’t meant to apply directly to the bugs. They are meant instead to be applied to surfaces, which you would like to keep free of pests. The pests will be able to sense the orange oils and they know that these are lethal to them. Because of that, simply putting down the orange oils is enough repel the bugs away from the places you don’t’ want to have bugs.
You can never say enough about using oranges to get rid of pests. There is simply no end to the things that it can do. Also, it is in no way harmful to people or to animals, and you can use it near other plants without a fear of having trouble. It is simply something that is amazing which you can use in your home or in your garden to rid yourself of unwanted visitors.
The best part about using something organic such as oranges is that there is no way that it can hurt those that you live with. The problem with many of the chemicals that are found in the pesticides that are not organic is that they are actually poisonous to the bugs, but they are also poisonous to the people as well. You never know what effect chemicals are going to have on your family, or even just on the environment. Using naturally found orange oils is going to harm nothing except for the pests that you don’t want to be in your garden or in your home. It is a great way to repel pests without hurting people, and without having to worry about doing damage to the environment as well.
